Purpose of the Peer Learning Network

The peer learning network provides vehicles for California Convergence partners to:

Peer Learning Network Vehicles

Face-to-Face Interaction

Purpose: Build relationships; promote peer to peer networking, mentoring and skill building; support leadership development and convergence of leadership around key actions.

Activities: Annual stakeholder conferences, workgroup meetings, trainings, seminars, mentoring and coaching.



Virtual peer learning network (VPLN)

Purpose: Facilitate peer networking and serve as a space for day-to-day sharing, problem solving and collaboration.

Activities: Connect with peers working on similar issues; discuss policy priorities; view/register for events; view/post project photos/albums.

Profile Book

Purpose: Provide a directory of Convergence Conference participants; provide contact information in an easy to use format; connect communities and peers working on similar projects.

Web Conferencing

Purpose: Conduct web conferences, using whiteboards, text chat, polling, and archives to allow for broader opportunities for real-time training and seminars.

Activities: Web conferences on topics related to Convergence policy strategies and other local and regional work; provide focused/topical dialogue, training, and seminars; support access for community members, by identifying web conferencing sites in each community (e.g. public health departments).

eNewsletter

Purpose: Provide information and links to new research and resources, and relevant news stories; announce upcoming meetings, events and skill building opportunities; provide updates on policy processes; celebrate successes.

Content & Availability: Emailed monthly to a distribution list; contact us to be added to the list.

Teleconferencing

Purpose: Provide low-tech vehicle for meetings, discussions, planning and scheduling to support work on key activities.


Activities: Convergence workgroup meetings; sector specific discussion group meeting; planning meetings.

California Convergence Website

Purpose: Provide an overview of Convergence and a map of Convergence sites, and serve as a hub of information related to peer learning, leadership development, policy priorities, and the national Convergence Partnership.
