Orange County: A Win in Mental Health Community Outreach Promotora Model
A major win and landmark event for Latino Health Access, their community and the Promotora Model
The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved the Latino Health Access mental health contract to provide services using the Promotora Model. The item passed unanimously by the Board of Supervisors. Two supervisors commented that in the past two weeks they learned from our community leaders that the Community Outreach Promotora Model is nationally recognized and highly effective.
Latino Health Access credits the award of this contract to both the willingness of OC County Board of Supervisors to meet in an effort to clarify any concerns, as well as to the overwhelming support by partners and supporters who emailed, called and wrote letters expressing their support for the Promotora Model.
Latino Health Access is very grateful for the strong support support on behalf of the promotoras, a nationally recognized outreach model that links people to services while honoring the diverse communities of Orange County. Latino Health Access is grateful that the Board of Supervisors awarded the Mental Health Community Outreach/Promotora Program contract to LHA as the agency best equipped to provide services and community capacity building through the use of the Promotora model.
Latino Health Access is now focused on providing excellence in service to the diverse communities of Orange County. Congratulations to Orange County and to Latino Health Access.
